About Me

Our Hero... the reason why we do what we do...My name is Michelle... I'm Native American: La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians and German. You can visit the La Jolla site at lajollaindians.com it's pretty cool. I'm very content with who I am and where I'm at in life. Seeing the 42 by my pic freaks me a bit... but, I never thought I'd make it to 18 (much less 21,30, 39... 42?). I have a great family… I've been married to the love of my life for almost 21 years and we've been friends for 27! We have 3 boys: 10, 15 and 20yrs old... All my men are amazing! I own a REPTILE RESCUE: Reptile Haven... along with rescue; we also provide/perform educational shows for schools and Safari Adventures for birthday parties, fundraisers, carnivals and other events...We have 1 male rescue iguana... we named him El Guapo - The Handsome One... 2 rescue Argentine Black and White Tegus (male and female) named Yin and Yang... they're friggin beautiful! 2 rescue ball pythons and Oscar the savannah is also a rescue. Bosco was imported. We found Bosco at a pet store where they wouldn't touch her because she was so wild. So, we posted bail and took her home:) Savs should NEVER be imported to novice pet stores... Because of that situation we realized the importance of RESCUES, REPTILE EDUCATION, BREEDERS AND CEASING THE NEED TO IMPORT. I've begun laying the foundation to breed my savannahs however, **WE ARE NOW TAKING IN RESCUES**. We will see where breeding my savs leads; the rescues have my heart and time! I’d love to hear of experiences and opinions from other rescuers/breeders and owners. If you're thinking about an exotic as a pet; send a message..... I’d love to help direct you to valuable information in researching your potential Repti... PLEASE REMEMBER: consider their captive “life Span”, their adult size, veterinary care costs, adequate housing and your electric bill dramatically increasing! They're a lot of work, but they're worth it!!Contact Info: Michelle Quinn, Haven's direct line at (661) 296-7703 (please leave a message) or email us at [email protected] We're also on the web at www.scvreptilehaven.com MY MALE BALL PYTHON "AGRO" FEMALE BALL PYTHON "SHELIA" SAVANNAH MONITORS: OSCAR (GREY/MALE) & BOSCO (SAND/FEMALE)

My Interests

Those of us lucky enough to be herpetologists, whether professional or amateur, clearly recognize the value of all amphibians and reptiles. They not only are part of our own evolutionary history, but also are an integral part of our natural heritage; they, along with all other animal and plant species, constitute life on Earth. The excitement and enthusiasm that we all experience while observing and studying amphibians and reptiles have brought together a remarkable diversity of people, collectively known as herpetologists. The continued survival of the animals that have so deeply touched our lives depends on our ability to communicate what we know about them. Zug, Vitt and Caldwell
