Steve's unique style of playing gets your attention from the start, upside down and left handed. He began playing bass at age 9, by the age of 15 he was touring with Gospel groups such as "The Dixie Travelers" . In the 80's Steve met legendary bass player Joe Osborn. Becoming friends with Joe and his family, Steve credits his style of playing to that of Joe Osborn. Joe gave Steve some advice in one simple sentence, "Simple is better". Steve's style of playing varies from funk to R&B and even country and is always steady and tight. Complementing any kind of music genre, Steve focuses on the sound and feel of each song played. Founding as many as 6 groups throughout his career, Steve has fit right in with Syndicate of Soul, lending them his funky, tight bass playing. In the studio or in a club, Steve never fails to please any music critic!
