The unfortunate reality in today's America is that our individual freedoms are under attack. Regardless of your personal views on partisan issues, it is a sad day when sex offenders run free and it is the cuban cigar smokers or the poker players or strip club patrons who face prosecution. These are the fundamental principals...the foundation on which America was built. Those are not partisan. These are inalienable rights. Unfortunately, while federal government restrictions are more far reaching and receive considerable more press, rights at the state and local level are increasingly vulnerable as well. While I am an ardent supporter of the Poker Players Alliance and their national efforts to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, this site is specifically focused on Ohio. Eventually, my hope is that this group will become an active association and a political voice. A voice which will someday clarify the legality of poker in Ohio. But initially, we need to make sure that our CURRENT rights are protected. Currently 14 states outlaw online poker and are beginning to prosecute players. Is Ohio next? But while this site is obviously geared toward poker players in the Buckeye State, I urge anyone to join who is concerned about their rights to enjoy LEGAL activities that may soon become criminalized.}
