WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT PIRANHA DEATHRAY
"No one is making music like Piranha Deathray at the moment" NME
Frenetic, metropolitan and twistedly pop, this is artcore, and, with every outing its ever more greatness-troubling stuff PlayLouder.com
Wouldn't it be great to live in a universe where good always vanquished evil? Like the very existence of a band with the name Piranha Deathray (and what a fabulous name that is, well done) would actually cause everything ever recorded by the dead hippy tramp Elliott Smith to just blink out of existence Steven Wells
Piranha Deathray glam it up like there's no tomorrow's world." trakMark.com

FACTS ABOUT PIRANHA DEATHRAY
The germ of an idea that was to become Piranha Deathray was conceived in early November 2003 at a Kaito gig on the day Suede announced they would be no more.
The Deathrays first drummer was Robert Shultzberg, formerly of Placebo, but he left. There have been 7 members of the group so far, though the current line-up has been cemented for some time now. Wataru Idol came in initially as an auxiliary guitarist and keys man, though hes rubbish at both.
Piranha Deathray played their first gig at On the Rocks, Shoreditch on the 4th November 2004. Bands theyve played with since include Maximo Park, The Long Blondes, the Pipettes, The Boyfriends, Hot Puppies, Burningpilot, the Grates and Young Knives.
The first full song Blonde Jeremy and Son of King Rebel wrote together was The Public Execution of the Crying Boy. It is still a live favourite and has been played at every show since their inception.
Their first download single The Rising came out on DogBox and caused a critical stir, as did their When Can I Meet Your Parents? track on the same labels Blue Skies Up compilation. Both tracks have been played on radio stations around the world, including popular shows in Berlin and San Francisco.
The band will release another single with DogBox this summer. A new version of The Last Australian in Space will feature Alex Potterill of Luxembourg on keys and production duties...
