In the first 10 years of Scott’s life his father’s career developed and they moved around a couple of times. Scott and his sister both had lessons in various instruments until they finally moved to Brisbane in 1988. Shortly after that Scott’s life was purely based around music and sports. At this point music became an infactuation, which never really ended. He found the best players and teachers(including lengendary jazz guru Barry Moreton and New York hall of fame vocalist Venetta Fields), to learn from them and he almost drove everybody around him insane by playing repetition exercises, loud and constantly.
Scott has been writing songs or part songs for as long as he can remember. But when he reached the end of high school the opportunity to play professional gigs in cover bands arose. Now he could actually make good money, travel and party hard. Obviously he didn’t even think, he grabbed this chance with both hands and he even moved up to the North of Queensland for a while and travelled, playing around Australia. After many, many years, playing thousands of gigs, he has honed his skills and gained the performance experience necessary to be where he is now; Ready to explode onto the originals scene. Scott’s first album "Between Caffeine" is now finished and a band of some of Brisbanes finest musicians including Dave Mooney on bass and backing vox, Phillip Eames on keys and Mik lindsay on drums, are now in the process of rehearsing the songs to start to perform live in 2008.
When approaching this project Scott progressively realized that he wanted to be in the “driver’s seat†for all aspects of the product. There is a lot more to producing a full album than just recording a couple of songs. As he went to start tackling each process he realized there were two roads he could follow. Either, delegate the tasks which others could do for him. Which means the workload was lightened, but also that he had to sacrifice some of the visions he had on how he wanted his product to be. Or, he could begin the immense task of doing the majority of the work himself. Maybe it would take a lot longer and it would cost a lot more effort. But despite the constantly sky rocketing learning curve he at least knew that the product would be completely the vision he had, realized. And as a result he would be educated and have an insight into each and every aspect of producing an album and musical art project. From, how to write all parts of various styles of songs and how to record and mix, all the way to doing the artwork and reading extensively about music law.
The time has come to make his music a group project now with a band of highly acomplished musicians surrounding him they will now add a little bit of themselves to all the elements of Scott's music making it a must see show in 2008.
