About Me

***I'm not Tony Curran just a fan myself.**** Anthony(TOny) Curran was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. He stands 6 feet, 2½ inches (1.89 m) tall and has red hair and blue eyes. He graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.Received the Evening News National Award for his performance "The Soldier's Tale". He has played murderers, vampires, Vikings, leprechauns, and "regular guys. He has appeared in two movie versions of the epic tale Beowulf. He played Hondscioh in Beowulf and Grendel (2005) and Weath the Musician in The 13th Warrior. He is friends with Jason Flemyng, who co-starred with him in the 2003 production "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", they also participate in marathons together to raise money for charity. He is also good friends with Gerard Butler who I hear helped Tony get the role in Beowulf & Grendel. Tony is also a frequent and popular participant in the annual Dressed To Kilt event in New York City, run by the organisation Friends of Scotland in celebration of Tartan Week. Curran hopes to attract more theatre work in the UK but is happy living in LA.Quotes:(about the difference between making a Hollywood movie and making a TV show) Obviously the scale in movies is much bigger. I enjoy working on both. For me it's a sort of a different format, which doesn't really have an influence. I'm focused as much on what I'm doing on television as I am on doing film. Its just the scale. A lot of people go from TV to film and forget about their TV work. Me, I would love to do a few more pieces of telly in the UK. Great Expectations or some British costume drama. I hope someone's listening......(about working with Sean Connery) It was great. He's a movie legend but very down to earth. I was a bit apprehensive to be honest but he puts you at ease. He's very professional. He doesn't threaten like some actors do.***Check these out for more on Tony. www.tonycurranonline.com www.geocities.com/tonycurran_weath www.geocities.com/acurranaffair www.Unofficial Tony Curran Web Site

My Interests

FAn of Glasgow Celtic football club. Enjoys playing football, once played for a team called "The Waxers" who were a team based in London, where he played right wing. His turn-on's:Having his kilt admired, Tony has been invited to appear at Dressed to Kilt in La several times and is very proud of his Scottish heritage! His dream date: probly anyone but his mum. She went to Cannes with him for his premiere of Red Road in which he 'performs' in a very raunchy sex scene with an actress! HE slowly sank in his seat as his mum watched.Turn-off's: Enthusing about Rangers...Tony is a diehard Celtic fan.Note: Information above is from an interview I found on the net.
