'I've gone for 30 years now,' he wrote, 'and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I cannot remember a single one of them. So, I think that I'm wasting my time and the pastor wastes time even giving sermons at all.This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor! It went on for weeks UNTIL someone wrote this clincher:'I've been married for 40 years now. In that time my wife must have cooked some 42,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this... all nourished me to give me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me those meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment (growth and improvement for my mind), I would be spiritually dead today!When I was DOWN to nothing, God was UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible, and makes the impossible come true! Thank God for physical and spiritual nourishment!'* So, when Satan comes knocking on YOUR door, simply say, 'Jesus, could you get that for me?'

Music:
Love, love, love music - country, rock, pop, classical, jazz - just about everything really!! Recently started listening to celtic music amd finding I like it! Favorite rock band is Def Leppard, but Sammy Hagar runs a pretty close second...gotta love the Red Rocker!! REALLY love country music too...my mom used to listen to country all the time and guess I caught the bug. I especially like the new artists...lot of great country music out there now! Will give any kind of music a try really...just love listening to music!!!
Movies:
Favorite movies are Monty Python and The Holy Grail and The Princess Bride. Recently watched The Holy Grail again...this time with my oldest son and think I found another Monty Python fan...he laughed just as much as I did! I also like Ever After, The Matchmaker (new version), Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail - pretty much anything that makes me laugh. Finally got to see P.S. I Love You and LOVED it! (Yes, I know these are "chick" movies, but I can't help it, I LIKE them.) Also like Braveheart, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings series,
300, The Negotiator, Kiss the Girls, The Mummy (old and new versions - actually all of the old horror movies like Dracula, etc.) and the list goes on and on - too many more to list!
Television:
CSI (all of them), Law and Order, House, just about anything on PBS, Discovery Channel, History Channel, love SciFi Channel, Ghost Hunters
Books:
Love to read just about anything, but mostly science fiction/fantasy and historical novels - can't stand sappy romance novels (even though I like sappy romance movies - strange that - guess I like to watch the sappy romance instead of read about it!).
Heroes:
My husband and my kids - Brian's an EMT-I for a local ambulance company and volunteers on the rescue squad and Tommy and David just for being themselves!!
