ZE BLUETONES - Rhythm & Rockin' Blues

About Me

ENGLISH
I’m a 31 years old harp player from Caen (Normandy - France). I first met the blues when I was a teenager thru the Sonny Boy Williamson Records. When I’ve heard for the first time the song "Help me", I received a thunderbird on my head! Since that singular day, the blues never left me. In a first time, I discovered the post war Chicago Blues of the greats Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Magic Sam, Junior Wells and obviously the two Walters. Then I started to listen more kind of blues (from the Texas to the West coast; the jump blues and the swing). Since I’ve met Pascal Fouquet (the guitar player of my band Ze Bluetones), I try to learn how to play the 50’s Rhythm & Blues from Louis Jordan to Ruth Brown. Now we’re workin’ hard on our next release which will contains originals tunes inspired from these musical period. ZE BLUETONES, had the oppurtiny to play in the most important blues festivals in France (Cognac Blues Passions, Cahors Blues Festival, Autour du Blues de Binic, Blues Sur Seine, Jazz & Blues Rallye du Luxembourg.....) and to share the stage with the greatest (Buddy Guy, Lucky Peterson, Otis Clay, Bill Wymann....).

April the 15th in the morning the great Sean Costello was found dead in a hotel room in Atalanta! Sean was a handsome young man with amazing guitar ability, a fine voice, and a strong sense of carrying forward the tradition of the blues, Sean was a rising star with a brilliant career in front of him. In a world where we sorrowfully watch so many elder statesman of the blues pass, the loss this youthful bright light is especially hard to take. It was a great experience and an honnor to meet this kindly and friendly guy. The pictures and videos below were taken at the "Tournon d'Agenais", camp (october 2007) were we've spent an unforgettable week together. Rest in peace my friend, I miss you.
