I am here for Friends

About Me

I guess I'm somewhat interesting due to the polarization of the different types of friends and aquaintances I have. I have a job where I really don't fit in w/ the other kids, but I love what I do. After all, it is a game, stupid! I loves me some music, movies, books, cooking, wine, dining, bartending (for those that remember Tucson), chess, Counter Strike (Sad but true.. for J.J.), Consumption Junction, MuchoSucko, poker, Law-Order, The Shield, Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, MXC, Malcom in the Middle, Bond marathons, Iron Chef, Great Chefs, the ocean, mexican beaches, cliff diving, snorkeling, Dr. Pepper, Mr. Mountain and his delicious Dew, and..and...uh, stuff I'd like to give a shout out to Guiness Brewery for their fine efforts in making the best beer ever and mad love for Tanquerray and their excellent gin. Having said that, I have returned to the gym in search of 'the shape' I once had...seeing results and moral is high... Personality, uh....hmmm... complex: read that as stubborn and sometimes stupid. I mean well, but I guess I sometimes say the wrong thing and give the wrong impression. As you can see, I do not have possesion of a huge vocabulary. That is a direct consequence of an Arizona education. I can make up for that in wit, charm, tact, diplomacy, sarcasm, and self-depreciating humor. I like to think that I don't have an ego, but I am self confident. Oh, I almost forgot. I can really appreciate the stupid and retarded things in life, such as...waiting in the wrong line for waay to long.. buying Squirt at the store and then discovering I accidentally bought diet cuz they look almost alike.. when kids trip, fall down, then look to see if anyone saw so they can cry..old people that have no idea what the hell is going on around them and it makes them grumpy..people standing in line at a Scottsdale club that are wearing the exact same outfits as everyone else, but still think that they're gonna stand out in the crowd and get the hotties..watching a cat trip and stumble (very rare, but very amusing)..people trying to act white trash when they clearly aren't of that ilk..the exact opposite of that last observation.. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People that are different, to put it bluntly. If your goal in life is to lease the latest, cheapest BMW, go club hoppin on the weekends, and still rent an apartment; no can do, no want to do. Economic realities are what they are, I'm into people that do what they want to do, screw what everyone else thinks. My roomate is a perfect example of that and I think its incredibly admirable. Most of my friends aren't worried about the latest fashions and the newest model, unless its golf gear or music equipment (everyone has their own particular geekiness..) I respect free thinkers, artists, engineers, craftsmen, and anyone else that takes pride in what they do because they know that is an example of character. I personally suck at art, but I respect it and obviously appreciate it. I like different because it helps me to see more, understand more, and its usually entertaining. If there are too many similarities, things go stale, everyday, repetitive, and usually leads to casualness or dulling of the senses. There needs to be some commonalities to establish a foundation, but that is when the peculiarities need to take over and keep the relationship fresh and invigorating. That is what I find attractive.
