Gigging from late 2004 to late 2005, the first era of ORGAZMATRON spanned only ten gigs, yet, in this short period of time, they strived to encompass a sense of passion, integrity and rapture into every single one of the ten nights they played:
10th December 2004 – The Square
12th Feburary 2005 – The Square (supporting The Fever)
10th March 2005 – The Square (1st Round Battle of the Bands)
11th March 2005 – The Pavilion
24th March 2005 – The Marquee (with Gretchen Rocks)
21st April 2005 – The Square (2nd Round Battle of the Bands)
28th April 2005 – The Horn (supporting The Worldonfire)
5th May 2005 – The Portland Arms (supporting The Worldonfire)
20th May 2005 – The Square (Semi Final Battle of the Bands)
19th October 2005 – Liquid Nightclub (supporting The Worldonfire & Another Story)
ORGAZMATRON decided to go their separate ways after the Liquid performance, and the two main songwriters (Shaun Clark and Reece Jones) went on to form a new band – Sunshine Station. This project spanned from late 2005 to late 2006, ending when Reece and Shaun decided that they wanted to venture back into the realm of fuzzed out, stoner rock. After getting Dale Bradbury and James Street back on board, the band went on a hunt for a new bassist. After a string of try outs and letdowns, they finally found one in the form of, Derrick Carr Rickwood.
And so the second era of ORGAZMATRON begun…
8th September 2007 - The Green Rooms
6th October 2007 - The Loaded Dog (supporting Antique Scream)
12th October 2007 - The Freighthouse
30th October 2007 - The Horn
After these four gigs, ORGAZMATRON decided that it would be best if Derrick concentrated on his main band, The Worldonfire, as the two projects were beginning to get in the way of one another. For a week or so, ORGAZMATRON were unsure where they were going to find a new bassist and if they really wanted to start from scratch with yet another new member. However, after careful consideration, the band decided that there was no need to bring any new members in, and that the problem could be resolved by simply changing Shaun’s role in the band to bassist and for James to take up the role of sole guitarist. After locking themselves away for a few months to rehearse and record their debut EP, they finally decided to unleash their new and improved sound to the public.
And so the third era of ORGAZMATRON begun…
24th January 2008 - The Square (In Absentia Launch Party)
9th February 2008 - Club Blub
22nd February 2008 - The Man On The Moon (with Rizzo)
4th March 2008 - The Purple Turtle
14th March 2008 - Club Quattroz
24th March 2008 - Club Quattroz
5th April 2008 - Tommy Flynns
16th May 2008 - The Junction (Dave Walsh fills in)
ORGAZMATRON then went on a short hiatus during the middle of the year, before rejoining forces for the fourth time in September 2008. This time around, the band were set on getting Shaun back on guitar, where he belonged, and enlisting the skills of a new bassist to take his place. Luckily enough, Reece had recently become acquainted with a rather talented musician in the form of, Joshua Clark, who was keen on filling the slot and completing the line-up once again.
And so the fourth era of ORGAZMATRON begun…
18th October 2008 - The Square (with Peg & The Taunts)
22nd October 2008 - The Bull & Gate
14th November 2008 - The Square (supporting The Xcerts)
3rd December 2008 - The Islington Bar Academy (supporting The Lizzies)
19th December 2008 - Club Quattroz
In early 2009, ORGAZMATRON begun recording their debut album, tentatively named 'The Mind Is Hologram'. Originally planning to get the ten track album recorded, mixed and mastered in the space of seven days, the schedule was eventually pushed back after acknowledging that the deadline had been a little too ambitious. Postponing the rest of the recording for a later date was agreed upon after the financial side of things started slowing the process to a halt. After the first recording sessions were over and done with, Joshua departed the band due to musical differences. Joey Moriarty (of PennyRoyal) took his place and started rehearsing with the band in March 2009. Gigs shortly followed.
And so the fifth era of ORGAZMATRON begun...
13th March 2009 - The Square (supporting Magna Saga)
22nd March 2009 - The World's End (supporting Magna Saga)
27th March 2009 - The Green Rooms (supporting Magna Saga)
