Baptist is a talented emcee coming out of Toronto. Through his music he is trying to change the mentality of the people. Whether you're from high or low income housing we all share the feeling of STRESS and the feeling of HOPELESSNESS. Baptist while rapping on the injustice of the police, government propaganda, ghetto suffering, low- self esteem and just plain old having fun does it with a witty flow that can touch the souls of the people. Born Byron Maston Trotman August 20th, 1981 was born and raise in the Metro Toronto Housing complex of Glendower Circuit. Dower it's called by most of it's residents. There he was raised by a single parent mother with his 3 brother and 3 sisters. Growing up there he got into some problems with police as a youth for doing any lil' shit while being a follower and not a leader. Listening to the wrong people got him into trouble. But now he's trying to bring a positive message through his music. He learn a lot about life growing up in the ghetto. He's been a victim of police harassment on several occasions, has been stereotyped and called racial slurs like some of his heroes from back in the day. He has experienced poverty, low self-esteem and a state of depression like most children of the ghetto without a father figure. Baptist is hoping to leave a mark like his heroes of the pass did. Speaking on many topics that effect us in our day to day lives from losing our love ones and drinking away our sorrows to just living everyday as if it's your last hanging out with your people.
