Michelle began her performing experiences as a dancer when she was 7 years old taking Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Latin dancing. She performed and competed at various Kiwanis competitions where she realized her passion for the stage. Her constant exposure to music began at home from a very young age with a Fisher Price piano and boom-box recorder and later went on to study the piano and cello. At the age of 13, Michelle began vocal training and has studied Folk, Classical, Pop and Broadway music.
Since the age of 14, Michelle has been performing professionally within her Portuguese community and recorded her first original work that has been playing on multicultural radio stations in Toronto and abroad. Her performances throughout Ontario have gained her invitations and exposure to festivals in the Caribbean and Portugal and a Best Female Artist nomination for the Ontario Peoples Choice Awards.
Michelle has also been a part of major fashion events such as being the sole entertainment for the Christmas launching event of Christian Dior’s “Higher†fragrance and was the first singer to perform the signature song “Be the One†of one of Canada’s largest malls Square One, at this year's annual Fall Fashion Show. She has also entertained thousands for various corporate functions and fundraisers for many community based projects and hospitals.
In 2005, Michelle landed a spot amongst the Top 32 finalists on Canadian Idol, where she was broadcasted live across Canada on CTV. She has also been featured on OMNI 1, RTP, Roger’s Television and The Life Network. 2008 became a great year for Michelle in her home city where she won the "Mississauga Future Stars" competition and was a Finalist for the annual Mississauga Arts Awards and invited artist to open the show for Regis Philbin at the Mayor's Gala. Her accomplishments gained her a showcase at The Canadian Music Week Festival 2009 amongst some of the biggest artists and bands in North America, where Michelle became recognized as a Canadian singer/songwriter.
