Since singing her first solo at age 3, Penni Lawrence has been performing for live audiences all over the United States. She grew up entertaining audiences on her father’s country music show, The Union Mill Opry, based in northwest Missouri. In 1986, the show turned into a weekly televised program in their regional area. Penni has developed a strong following in West Texas and has performed numerous times at the Cactus Theater, at various state fairs and festivals, conventions, private parties, and competitions throughout the United States. She has opened for such artists as Charlie Robison, Gene Watson, Connie Smith, and Rick Trevino. She has advanced 3 times as a state finalist in the Colgate Country Showdown (2005-2007), while also winning the West Texas Annual Relay Idol competition in March 2006. In 2006, Penni formed her own band, whose members include some of the best musicians in the West Texas area. The group can perform a variety of music, including Classic & Traditional Country hits, Classic Rock-N-Roll, and Blues. Their versatility allows them to cater to a wide range of audiences at any type of private or corporate event.
Penni is currently finishing up her new CD in Nashville, set to be released in 2008. Her current single “Easier Said Than Done†was written by Penni and released to radio stations in October 2007. Penni truly has a heartfelt desire to be successful in the music industry, which is apparent in each performance she gives. Her ability to be so versatile in various musical genres sets her apart from other female artists. Her vocals have been described as a smooth blend of traditional country & classic rock, with a sultry touch of the blues.
