About Me

Basstown was started in 2006 by David Day , a local DJ, promoter, journalist, and all around personality. Having lived here for seven years, the growth of techno and dance parties around the country became unavoidable, and the virus was hitting the New England city best known for being a college rock town. With the rise of great parties like Hearthrob and Thunderdome , a community of DJs, dancers, party kids, and everyone in between started turning venue tiles into dance floors all across Boston and Cambridge.
As of September 2007, four of the bunch have taken the reins and declared this city BASSTOWN, a place bookeneded by the electro-capitols Montreal and New York that can write its own name on the wall (in UV ink, of course). Our goal is to bring the biggest variety of world-renouned DJs and local Boston talents together, always inviting an awesome time that shows that while some say disco might be dead (they're wrong wrong wrong), techno lives on.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

You. You and more of you. Come party with us.

Basstown is something we're all citizens of, so if you want to lend a hand in making things happen, get in touch. The Internet is covered - the last thing we need is another blog/website/myspace (though we'll set them all up), but we're looking to go further. Podcasts, DJ mixes (both online and pressed), and making magic happen on a dance floor is the ultimate goal here, pplz.
