françois sarhan

since the premiere of his first work in 1995 at "Théâtre des Champs-Elysées", in Paris, (for the 70th birthday of Pierre Boulez), François Sarhan has composed music in every genre : orchestra, chamber music (like the Bobok cycle for 2, 3, 4 and 5 string intruments), opera (Kyrielle du Sentiment des Choses, premiered at festival d'Art lyrique d'Aix-en-Provence, 2003), electroacoustic music. He had numerous portraits and monographic evenings (by ensemble Ictus, Alternance) and is regularly invited to be composer in residence (Octobre en Normandie, Arsenal de Metz, Witten Universität, Royal school of Music, Manchester) He is not only composer, but also founder of a production company for music theatre, called crWth. his worked are avalaible on fsarhan.net. He collaborates with many different fields, like visual arts, theatre and dance. He wrote a "Introduction à l'histoire de la musique", published by Flammarion (2004). He is currently preparing a piece for the Donauschingen festival (germany) and a piece for Ensemble Modern.
