About Me

ChalkLign was born in the summer of 2003, from the desire of singer Chase Hemingway to create something original and inspirational. After performing with several different artists for a year, he came across a very unique guitarist, Manuel Romo III, who has since captured the heart and soul of what ChalkLign is. The two worked together, attempting to invent their own sound with several other artists until January of 2005, when drummer Matt Pfiffner, joined the band and pushed them to another level. Less then a year later, Mike Hayes, with his very original style and back up vocal abilities joined them on bass and completed the group. There is so much more to come from this band kiddies! ChalkLign won the Alex Gray Contest for "Best Song" on MySpace.com with their song Unclean, competing against 200 other bands. Love what you do, do what you love. We were born for this.

Influences: This band is influenced by the air, water, fire and earth that make up everything. The words and feelings that are poured into the sound they create come from within a troubled turbine, churning forth on a collision course with The Beautiful Chaos lying in wait. They have learned, over time, to set free the sounds that float on the air and lay those sounds on top of heart pounding, deep seated rhythm so groove oriented it creates the Beauty and the Chaos all in one flail swoop! The music is not alive until it is fed the life, the blood and the soul of a true artist. Let the feeding begin!

Sounds Like: Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Tool and Incubus had an orgy and well the aftermath was a little baby named ChalkLign. Some say that this little baby might grow wings and one day fly. Take a listen and see!!
