BlackList

About Me

Originated in Jefferson, TX in 1995 and migrated to Dallas in early 2000. Based on a power house trio configuration, Blacklist administers a hard dose of reality. Founding members Dave Little, John Rainer (bass), and David Wyatt (drums) cut their teeth in the East Texas/Shreveport blues scene before bringing the band to Dallas. They quickly established themselves on the underground blues jam scene in Dallas, becoming the house band for the Scorpion Motorcycle Club of Dallas along with Dane Manshack (of The Kul). After putting in their time as the Hall Street Wrecking Crew, the boys got an appetite for a heavier sound and BlackList was born. After numerous lineup changes due to education and careers, BlackList has returned after an extended break to bring back heavy music that means something. Power grooves and hard-edged riffs harnessed by soulful lyrics fuel the machine that is...Dave Little: Guitar and Lead Vocals. Influences include: Jimi, Stevie, Dime and Zakk. Weapon of choice: Fender SRV Strat, Epiphone Les Paul, Mesa Boogie Amplification. Fan of Jagermeister and Shiner Texas!Tony Smith: Bass. Tools of the trade: Schecter and Ibanez basses, Carvin amplification. Likes long walks on the beach and fuzzy animals (preferably sedated).Chris Bowling: Drums and Percussion. Favorite quote: "SLAYER!!"With a new outlook on 2008 BlackList is back to take no prisoners.

HERE'S OUR FIRST REVIEW!!!!! In the HARDER BEAT
Blacklist - 10/14/08, Skillman Street Blacklist is a three-piece powerhouse featuring Dave Little (vocals and killer guitar solos), Tony Smith on thunderous bass and Christopher “Hillbilly” Bowling (drums) keeping the strong sound alive. Always a thrill for their fans, they played all originals including “Right Wing,” “The Creeper,” “Battle Hymn” and “Splinter.” Though an early show, there was still a large crowd at the front of the stage their entire set. Recently returning to the DFW music scene, Blacklist is a trashing success full of power, attitude and talent not to be missed. (Kim “Kimber” Polen)
HERE'S OUR FIRST CD REVIEW!!!
BlackList - Live at The Curtain Club, Self-Released BlackList, who has persevered through the years, mixes two parts Down with one part Badmotorfinger-era Soundgarden to create a meat-and-potatoes sound that dares you not to bob your head. Dave Little’s guitar is thick as molasses and played with precision, while he slathers on howling vocals. Tony Smith (bass) and Christopher Bowling (drums) bring more than enough rumble to the sludgy grooves. The whammy pedal-driven guitar solo of “Splinters” gives way to Corrosion of Conformity stylings, while the breakneck outro of “Right Wing” is circle-pit inducing. BlackList is a power trio in the truest sense. (D.J. Ivie)
