Band biography:
The german thrashers VENDETTA saw the light in 1984 in Schweinfurt, a small city by the river of Main. Their music was a perfect combination of pure speed/thrash in the german vein and the typical melody and sophisticated structures of the US metal, let's say Metallica for example. Infact, we could say that Vendetta were one of the least "german" among the dutch thrash bands of the eighties, you know, like Sodom, Kreator, Tankard, Deathrow etc etc. When you listen to Vendetta's only two albums (sigh!) for the first time, you're definitely not sure of what's coming next: sudden accelerations, stops, slow and mid tempos... well, sure as hell you won't find yourself yawning! The complexity of the songs and its long duration needed more than one brief listening to have a full enjoyment.
After two demos, one in 1985 ("System of Death") and the other two years later ("Suicidal Lunacy"), Vendetta made their debut in 1987 with the full length "Go and Live... Stay and Die" for Noise Records. This LP shows all the charateristics of Vendetta sound, as said before. The vocals, owned by Daxx and Micky, sung about social problems like drugs, corruption, violence, immigration, war and politics.
With the next year, Vendetta was on the road again with their second album, "Brain Damage", this one too produced by Harris Johns. The LP resume where "Go and Live" had left: the songs became even more complex and melodic, infact the album includes a let's say "power ballad", "Precious Existence", which could be considered strange for Vendetta sound, but finally it is not because it's the logical arrival point of their musical development.
In the meanwhile, Vendetta was a quite active live band, supporting acts like Paradox, Tankard, Exumer and Helstar.
But darkest days were ahead, infact the neverending quest for a role singer gave no results, so that in 1990 Noise decided to discharge Vendetta, which immediately disbanded. The guys reunited in 1998 and now are again active and on the road with a changed line-up (Heiner is the only remaining former member nowadays).
In 2003 they recordered with this new line up (plus Daxx) a 4 trakcs demo called "Dead People are Cool", and on the 27th of April the new album "Hate" was relased selfproduced.
Finally, in May 2007 Vendetta signed a deal with the german label Metal Axe Records.
July 2007: Finally the new album and the remasters are OUT!!!
Thrash till the death!
