Al "Mayhem" Mendez has been regarded as being one of the best drummers in Southern California.Mayhem has always had a natural affinity for drums,Mayhem started playing drums at the age of six.As a kid he always loved hitting things, Mayhem is a veteran on the underground metal and rock scene and is best known for his unique aggresive style capable of producing massive power and incredible speed on demand.Mayhem has many weapons in his arsonal,from thunderous sounds of a locomotive to soft dynamics,to locked in groove,to sycopated destuction,to hellishly fast doublebass playing earning him his name "Mayhem" which goes well with his personality while playing the drums.Live Mayhem commands attention with his infectious showmanship.Mayhem continues to elude the most experienced of sound men with his hard hitting drum work. Mayhem grew up in a Latino family and was always surounded by music and musicians. As a child Mayhem attended many concerts to observe the many drummers that were on the rise of greatness.Mayhem believed that this was very important to obsorb as much drums as possible,and be exposed to many types of music as well in order to become a better player.This is impotant to expand ones mind for creativity.Mayhem is a firm believer that you must always play from your heart and soul,and never try to copy anothers playing.Mayhem has always followed the beat of his own drum so to speak.And with this knowledge fueld his passion to become the best drummer he could be.Mayhems passion for differant genres of music has given him an edge.I has been influenced by many types of music such as,metal,blues,fusion,jazz,thrash,speed,funk,progressive rock,death metal,hard core,among others.Mayhem has dedicated his life to becoming a sucessful drummer.Mayhem has toured and has done numerous festivals.Mayhem has done more than thought possible.Mayhem has been featured on video one tv,performing with Mad whip thunder,also with Dreams of damnation, Eternal nemesis,Pagen war machine. and also played on The nightstallker movie soundtrack,for the song unholy invocations with dreams of damnation. Mayhem has done a lot of professional concerts opening up for some of the biggest acts of rock and metal.Mayhem has been featured in various magazines around the world such as:Metal Maniacs,Slayer Mag.,Keeper,Ill literature,Pit Mag.,Terrorizer,Midwest Metal,Metal Core,Brave Words,&Bloody Knuckles,Bam Mag.,El Suplemento. He has worked and or recorded with the following bands:ARCH BLADE,FIGHTER, LUST,MAD WHIP THUNDER,VINDACATOR,CREATURES OF GREED,DESTROYER,JERICO SIREN,DREAMS OF DAMNATION,PAGAN WAR MACHINE,SCARRED,THE DARK ANGEL REUNION (Filled in replace of GENE HOGLEN,Mayhem was asked to do the job because of his ability.I also worked with ROY Z in his first ever project WHITE TIGER, And the prog metal band ETERNAL NEMESIS, HIS CURRENT BAND ALMA EN GUERRA, IS A ROCK EN ESPANOL PROJECT THAT HE IS VERY PROUD TO BE A PART OF,AND BIG THINGS ARE IN STORE FOR THEM. THE MANY ELEMENTS OF THIS BAND MAKES FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL EACH MEMBER BRINGS AN ELEMENT OF CREATIVITY TO THE TABLE.
