About Me

"Human beings just get carried away by new ideas, like dressing up in jackboots and shooting people, or dressing up in white sheets and lynching people, or dressing up in tie-dye jeans and playing guitars at people. Offer people a new creed with a costume and their hearts and minds will follow...It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.
-- From Good Omens, my Favorite Book Ever of the moment

"I make good life choices—mostly because they’re forced on me—but I make them, and I find myself in unpleasant situations all the time. You know why? Because even if you have a choice it can and will be taken away from you. We’re all fate’s bitch. You might as well go ahead and bend over for destiny now." -- Wonderfalls

"One desperate attempt after another to find something in common with someone else and then cling. “Hey, you have ten fingers, I have ten fingers, let's be friends. We'll make rules and slogans. Then if we find someone with nine fingers, we can beat the crap out of them." -- Dead Like Me This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

My Interests

If it's NOT -- REPEAT, NOT -- about math, football, or subwoofers, I'm interested. I HATE MATH FOOTBALL AND SUBWOOFERS. Everything ELSE is interesting, but NOT THOSE THINGS. This sentence has caused a lot of confusion for some reason.

Michigan Winters: Worse than Hitler?

I don't remember what "warm" is. I'm also losing the connection with its cousins grass, leafy trees, and sunny skies. I've always thought that Seasonal Effective Disorder was one of those fake disor...

daily grindyness

One thing I don't like about having an 8-to-5, aside from it being the mark of my enslavement, is that it forces my weekends to be more about home maintenance than R&R -- and I don't even have a house...
