Mart started with DJing in 1990 in a small dance-club in germany.
He did it the "classic" way... he was the LJ and as the local DJ was far too drunk to continue he started spinnin' the turntables.
Infected with electronic music like Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Front Line Assembly, Depeche Mode, Anne Clark and for sure Kraftwerk his first love as an DJ were the early Techno-Tunes.
From 1992-1998 he has been well known for Detroit and NY-Acid and played his tunes mostly in the clubs and raves around K-Town, Saarbrücken, Frankfurt and Mannheim.
There were also some really nice gigs in italy, other cool places around the world and "the gig" at the loveparade... where he also played on the train to Berlin, arrived totally drunk and declined to play 'cause he was so pissed.
From 1992-1996 he had his own Radio-Show named "Planet Groove" which started sporadicly in the beginning and got an fixed 2 hour time-slot every wednesday.
In 1996 he started playin' house-tunes and after a while his reduced Detroit-gigs got very rare. This was also the time he changed his name to Mart Attkinson to avoid any more confusion.
At this place a big RESPECT to Joshua Hart from N.Y. who did a great job as booking-guy until Mart quit totally playing on big raves in 1998.
In 2000 he moved to switzerland where you could find him in the clubs around St. Gallen... still in love with jazzy house-tunes.
'Cause everything is doomed to get boring after a while he came back in 2004 with some dirty detroitish old-school beats which ended up in the sound he plays now... breakbeats mixed up with straight electro tunes.
You're welcome... join in.
