About Me
"Bambo Cissokho was brought up in Casamance in southern Senegal. He is a descendant of the mandingue Griot family- traditional musicians since the 1400 century. Every member of the family helps preserving their musical inheritance by playing their music and teaching the coming generations. Bambo is a percussionist and play Djembe, Sabar, Seourba, Koutiriba, Koutirinding, Djilandjang, Talking drum, Congas, Doundoun, Drumset, and Kora- a harp. He is also a singer.
Bambo has a lot of musical experiences and he has performed together with musicians from many different nations and in groups with different instrumental-sets and genres.
Since spring -07 Bambo lives in Stockholm, Sweden, and has already participated in a lot of conserts around the country. He has been playing at Urkultfestivalen, Selam African Festival, Cinemafricafestival, Peace & Love, Malmöfestivalen, Falu Street festival, Örebro Konserthus, Stockholms ungdomsfestival. He has given a lot of dance and percussion courses around the country.
He has also performed at: Centre culturelle francaise Dakar, Maisse des officiers Dakar, Sounbedioune Dakar, Festivale Abené, Carneval Kafountine, Alliance francaise Ziguinchor."
