Hey!I'm an intelligent, independant woman who suffers fron itchy-feet syndrome! Try and make me stay in a place for more than a couple of years, and I turn nasty (well, so far - who knows about the future?!)Linked to this (as well as for a number of other reasons!), I am going to Gambia in September for 6 months to work as a volunteer there, and I need your help!Basically, Gambia is a very poor country, and MondoChallenge (the volunteer organisation I am going there through) are doing a lot of great work trying to help people start their own bee-keeping businesses working in association with the National Bee-keepers Association of Gambia, by lending hives and bee-keeping equipment, with training of course, so that they can harvest and sell the honey and make candles etc. Essentially, this means that individuals who currently have no means of supporting themselves or their families learn a trade, gain an income and a stronger position in society.
