About Me

Bill Keneely has been a member of The Weather Channel meteorology team since March of 1982, two months before the network’s official launch in May of that year. Currently, he is seen on programs that include Weekend Planner, which airs Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. ET.Prior to joining the all-weather cable TV network, Mr. Keneely was a weekend meteorologist for CBS affiliate WTVT-TV, Tampa, FL., and also did radio and private client forecasting.Bill's favorite weather event took place when he was just a youngster, but he won't forget "... February 9-10, 1969. It was the first 'mega' snow storm I remember well. In Wayne, approximately 20 inches of snow fell (from) late Saturday night till Sunday night. School stayed shut that entire week!"A native of Wayne, New Jersey, Bill graduated with a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Plymouth State College of The University of New Hampshire, Plymouth, New Hampshire. When he's not keeping an eye on the weather, Bill enjoys golfing, watersports, snow skiing, and hiking with his family.

My Interests

Music:

Music for the local forecasts comes mostly from commercially available music published with BMI. Tracks from the albums of popular jazz fusion artists such as David Benoit, Trammell Starks, The Rippingtons, Spyro Gyra, St. Germain, and the Yellowjackets have been used as local forecast music in the past. Ryan Farish, Pat Metheny, Boney James, Charles Mingus, and Nestor Torres are some of the artists whose music is currently used on a regular basis for the local forecasts. The Weather Channel has also played music from the band Phish, The Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, Cannibal Corpse, jazz legend Herbie Hancock, and famed guitarist Eric Clapton.

Television:

Lewis Black and John Salley have both done The Weather Channel's "Celebrity Forecast". Heather Tesch tells Marshall Seese what color clothing she is wearing the next day, and Marshall tries to wear a tie of a matching color.

Jim Cantore sucks.

Why does he win all the polls for favorite TWC meteorologist? I just don't get it.
