I AM VOCAB by: HilToe (His name for me)
We'd chill at our apartment and he'd rap new lyrics to me.
If I wasn't straight up with him, he'd always see right through me.
To mess with him, I'd compare his style to Ludacris and
Whenever I needed to talk, he made the time to listen.
We said I always thought the best while he would think the worst.
He called the group his "Exmodians" and always put us first.
He never held his tongue and lived in his own little world
He'd embarrass us at IHOP and point out "apartment girls."
I knew all of his weaknesses and he knew all my dirt.
I even had his back when EXODUS made fun of that one shirt.
Our freestyle king would say his name (VO!) and "bringin home the bacon."
He always hid it so when he winced in pain, I knew he wasn't faking.
He always blew it off and he would say that he was fine.
When I asked what type it was he said "the disappearing kind."
He talked about the good that came like bringing his family together.
And how some youth had come to Christ their pastors thought would never.
When I threw a show called "Man Up," his face was on the poster
Cuz he was a man I admired him that much although I never told him.
At his services we saw so more many faces than we expected
It was a living testament to all the lives that he affected.
I see his face on myspace and it's so surreal to me
To see his name so much next to the letters, R.I.P.
He never got a chance to get his little Jesus tattoo.
So Imma get it for him-- I feel it's the least that I can do.
He said that it was in Gods hands and deferred to His holy will.
And that's the attitude that he would want us having still.
Some friends are mad at God because they cannot understand
How God would cut the life so short of such a Godly man.
But as we mourn, we all know exactly where he is.
That's the confidence we have to pass on to these kids.
I don't know how I'll deal with it and can't believe he's gone.
But I AM VOCAB and through US, his movement will live on.
