I'm a big dork. I like the library. I like to read, putz around in my apartment, eat/snack, stare and think, do stupid/fun things with friends. I like to collect things such as fortunes from cookies, C-Notes/Camel Cash and stickers. I like to do crafty things, clean when I'm really in the mood. I like tacky prints from the 60's and 70's and pretty scarves that I can wear as belts or as headbands. I look forward to my drive home from work when I can pick my nose.
I like Edy's Swiss Orange Sherbet
although no stores ever seem to carry it anymore :(
and Pop Secret's Homestyle popcorn,
.
(cuz everybody likes a visual...)
I go through phases of main interests; right now I'm really into Cirque du Soleil, Roald Dahl, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Carnivale, Artemis Fowl, and of course, this place... hehe. I've also been eating a lot of those Snyder sourdough pretzels. You know, the kind that almost break your teeth every time you dare to eat one. Mmmm - yummy.

The majority of my "TV watching" is actually watching a season of something once it's on DVD, not while it's actually shown the first time on cable, etc., so does that count as watching television?? hmmmmmmmm... At any rate, I like The Office/BBC, (I still haven't really seen the American version, it's hard to keep track of when it's on...) Carnivale, Curb Your Enthusiasm, ANTM, The Simple Life, Wife Swap, Monk, Medium (I watch those two with my mom :P )
I enjoy reading immensely. I'd rather spend a few hours reading than watching TV. I basically read for amusement and entertainment, so I generally choose fiction, for the most part, but from time to time I will read something nonfiction, if I'm really interested in the subject. I've mostly been reading young adult fantasy stuff lately, it just appeals to me on so many levels. Right now I'm reading the Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. It's really good... very surreal, yet familiar. Been reading a lot of Roald Dahl too, that man was awesome! I read "Boy" by R.D. recently and it was excellent, it was basically an autobiography, but he pretty much told stories about events that had happened to him in his childhood. Some kind of dark stuff, you can really see how his childhood lent itself to some of the themes in his "kids" stories. Some rather sugar-coated disturbing things. Seriously, you should read some of his short stories for adults. That's some good shit. I also read the 5 Artemis Fowl books in the past several months. I also really enjoy Bust magazine and Print magazine. And I've liked what Wally Lamb has written. And of course....
I've never really been one of those "My hero is ___" or "My dreams are to ___", never really planned my wedding as a kid either. I'm not really comfortable with the title "hero." I guess I'm a little unclear of what it really means. Well.... I guess there are a few people who are worth mentioning, here is as good a place as any to mention them... but I don't know if I'd say they were my heroes... rather, they are people that I'm thoroughly impressed by and admire... and they are J.K. Rowling, Tim Burton, Guy Laliberte, Ziyi Zhang and Gene & Dean...
...to name a few for the moment.
