APPLE BRED GEORGIA GROWN

About Me

Born a proud Brooklynite to a Trinidadian mother and Jamaican father, a descendant of Calypsonian Royalty. My grandfather, Lord Creator’s music still rings in my ears. His good friend and Godfather to my mother The Mighty Sparrow’s music is as good as any Beethoven piece in my grandmother’s home. My life always has and always will have an ill soundtrack playing in the background. Growing up my mother tried her best to keep me from falling into any Brooklyn cracks. She made sure I was too busy for trouble whenever it came knocking, and it always did. At 12 years old I started my musical career at the Harlem School of the Arts working under the cream of the crop. I sang at places I never fathomed existed. At the Waldorf Astoria I sang for Ambassadors and Socialites. At the Rainbow Room for YM Magazine, I snacked on Caviar during sets. LaGuardia Performing Arts High School was a natural progression for the next step in nurturing my craft. With noted Alums like Alicia Keys stopping by and legends like Tony Bennett performing for us in our auditorium on any given week, music looked pretty damn good to me. That was until my mother and I abruptly moved to Atlanta in search of a “better life.” I won’t bother to get into how much I hated that because I’ve grown to love Atlanta and hold it almost as dear as New York. Crack open my New York exterior and you’ll find a Southern Bell. I continued to work on my music in Atlanta. I must admit I credit New York for the dreamer in me but thank God Atlanta gave me strategy. I got a glimpse behind the machine that is the Music Biz and decided I wanted to be apart of the strings that would make me dance. In 2002 I went to Virginia Union University, home to Big Ben Wallace and Charles Oakley. I received a Bachelors of Science in Marketing by 2006. I love Marketing because it synergizes all of my goals. Who do you think will head the Marketing Campaign for my album? Yes Sir… I stay true to the stereotypical Jamaican hustler. I do have three jobs and I must say I love them all. I presently work in Commercial Sales for the number two television station in the New York Market, Fox5/My9, who by the way also owns Myspace.com. I am a Singer/Songwriter, and the baddest Public Relations Professional you know:)
