Kickin Rocks

How tragically appropriate that 2/3 of the members of a band called Kickin Rocks would be sidelined due to foot injuries? First it was Ben, our fearless tom-thumper, who is currently out of commisioin due to frost bite on his feet. He'll be fine, but it's going to take some time to heal. Ben is hard core. Then, we have Aaron on the 4-string, who--I shit you not--ruptured his Achilles tendon playing indoor soccer. Poor ol' Aaron has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Dave's feet are fine...kick on wood. Anywho, the band in on the shelf for the time being, but dry your eyes! Anchorage's Handsomest Punk Rock Trio will be back on stage everntually, bangin' out your favorite AK-style punker anthems and gettin shit-faced. Now here's the rest of our bio:Kickin Rocks started in about 2004, and was originally comprised of Jason Brisson on drums, Dave Armstrong or guitar and vox, and Jamie Pinkstaff on bass. Kickin Rocks' first show ever was at the North Slope Bar in Eagle River with Sargasm and T.S. Scream. When Jamie had to quit for some reason, Aaron Selbig took over on bass. Also, Jason got kicked out of the band in fall 2007 for being a dipshit and now the new drummer is this guy Ben, who is a much better drummer.The current tracks here are from Kickin Rocks' only album so far, "Drink to Death," with Brisson on drums. It is the second recording on the band's DIY label, Insurgent Records. (Dave did a solo-accoustic album called "Glorious Triumphant" which was recorded by Aaron in 2005.
