Everything interests me, especially new things about old stuff. Only boring people get bored. I just need a ball of yarn and an empty room, and I'll be fine. I love everything old; "Not all the old is good, but all the new is bad" - Wallace Nutting. I hate all this new crap - where did all the charm go? Love animals (and not eating them), the color black, the color red, pickles from a barrel that you find at fairs, Tabasco sauce, classic art museums, eating other people's cooking (but not my own), being American, dancing, pretty silky vintage ribbons, spooky stuff, pizza ("pizza is like sex, even when it is bad, it is still pretty darn good!"), poppies, birds of paradise and peonys, The Blue Angels, being by the water, shiny things, design, horticulture, booza booza, playing dress-up, antiques, small towns and big cities, old cars, Europe, making animal noises, sitting by koi ponds, collecting Victorian and vintage photography, interior decorating, Sunday afternoons, laying in bed eating & reading with my cats, hiking in the redwoods, laying on other people's couches while eating their food and watching their TV, walking around San Francisco, swimming in warm lakes, traveling to new places, tea at tea time, the weather, gardening, Monster Jam, vintage fashion, my friends and my family. I am a very simple person who is a bit complicated.
I'd like to meet:
People who like to eat cheese, buy me drinks and cook for me are good people to meet, but I don't have much more time for meeting others. Oh yeah, maybe the love of my life would be nice too.
Music:
Old stuff mostly. I think Hip Hop has a lot of great music, but is the root of a bunch of B.S. going on right now and new country is nothing but pop crap/the music of the Devil. Love going to Rockabilly, Honky Tonk & Psychobilly shows, really angry industrial and really messed up old country - all types of music except maybe the Luther Vandross type. To list a few... Johnny Cash, Eartha Kit, Pre 1991 Cure, Swing, Edith Piaf, Les Paul with Mary Ford, Lazy Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Eddy Arnold, Elvis, Siouxsie, Patti Page, Dead Can Dance, The Smiths, Wumpscut, Skinny Puppy, Kingston Trio, Pink Floyd, Bauhaus, Chopin, Amy Winehouse, Patsy Cline, Buena Vista Social Club, 50 Cent, James Brown, Old Blues, The Cramps, Dave Dudley, Dead Kennedys, Legendary Pink Dots and The Tear Garden, Front 242, Haujobb, Merele Hagard, Love & Rockets, Led Zepplin, Bethoven, Willie Nelsen, Nick Cave, Neil Young, The Pogues, Stone Roses, Dave Bruebeck, This Ascension, Ladytron, Dolly Parton
Movies:
Harold and Maude, The Jerk, Dangerous Liasons, Brief Encounter, Edward Scissorhands, Frida, Dracula, Sideways, It Happened One Night, The River (1951), The Village, Man Bites Dog, Sunset Blvd. and almost all old movies. Technicolor gets me excited too!
Television:
Favorite shows are American Experience, History doc.'s, Ab Fab, Addam's Family, Muppet Show, Antiques Roadshow, Dukes of Hazzard, Cops and Reno 911
Books:
Any type of book or magazine, and I must read The Little Prince every few months. Books about antiques and history. I think Fast Food Nation or at least Mad Cowboy should be required reading for all. I love my humble collection of vintage and antique books and antique photo albums. Must admit though, I seldom finish a book because a new one always distracts me.
Heroes:
Jane Goodal, cops, our soldiers, lazy cats, and people who do what they love for a living. Oh, and maybe people who can say "I can eat all I want and not gain a pound".
