I was founded in 1792. I am the both county seat of Wake county and the state capitol of North Carolina. I am also the largest of three neighboring cities collectively known as "the triangle", with a population of 240,000. I was named after Sir Walter Raleigh, who founded the lost colony at Roanoke.
