About Me
Hello, my name is Linda. I'm married and live on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County, Maryland. I'm 43, and have lived around the bay since I was 9. I'm a Realtor with the number one real estate company in the Mid-Atlantic region. If you are interested in buying or selling a house ANYWHERE in the United States, or know of someone who may be interested...MESSAGE ME, I can help.
My furry babies...Tinker and Tabatha. They are 13 year old sisters (only 2 in the litter) who still act like kittens. Their mother was a long-haired black and white just like Tabatha. Tinker is a short-haired smoke colored tabby. She's the sweetest baby you'd ever meet and follows her momma everywhere I go. Tabatha on the otherhand...let's just say she's a handful and leave it at that. Oh how I love them so!
This is Tinker...smiling for the camera.
And this is Tabatha.
I love them with all my heart!
I love all animals, but my absolute favorite is the Giant Panda. They are so adorable, how could anyone not love them?
Giant pandas are black and white bears that live in temperate-zone bamboo forests in central China. Among the best recognized — but rarest — animals in the world, they have come to symbolize endangered species and conservation efforts. As few as 1,600 giant pandas survive in the mountain forests of central China. Another 120 are in Chinese breeding facilities and zoos, and about 20 live in zoos outside China.
Mei Xiang and Tian Tian are the National Zoo's (in Washington DC) second pair of giant pandas. Both were born at the China Research and Conservation Center for the Giant Panda in Wolong, Sichuan Province.
Tian Tian (t-YEN t-YEN), the male, was born on August 27, 1997. His name means "more and more." In June 2006, he weighed 277 pounds.
Mei Xiang (may-SHONG), the female, was born on July 22, 1998. Her name means "beautiful fragrance." In June 2006, she weighed about 239 pounds.
Tai Shan (tie-SHON) was born early in the morning on July 9, 2005. He is Mei Xiang and Tian Tian's first offspring. At Tai Shan's first exam on August 2, we learned that the cub is a boy. He weighed 1.82 pounds and had a total body length of 12 inches. In early September 2005, he weighed 65 pounds. More than 200,000 votes were cast to name the cub. The winning name, Tai Shan ("peaceful mountain"), was given to the cub when he was 100 days old, on October 17. Tai Shan, who is now 18 months old, weighs 85 pounds.

Canada's annual seal hunt began on March 25, 2006. During last year's hunt, more than 317,000 seals were slaughtered for their fur. A staggering 98.5% of the seals killed were two months old or younger. Many of them were probably skinned while still conscious and able to feel pain. Stand with me today and stop the seal hunt forever by joining the Canadian seafood boycott.
Why boycott Canadian seafood?
Seal hunting is an off-season activity conducted by fishers from Canada's East Coast. They earn a small fraction of their incomes from sealing, primarily from the sale of seal pelts to European fashion markets. But the vast majority of the sealers' incomes are from commercial fisheries. Canadian seafood exports to the United States contribute $3 billion annually to the Canadian economy, dwarfing the few million dollars provided by the seal hunt. The connection between the commercial fishing industry and the seal hunt in Canada gives consumers all over the world the power to end this cruel and brutal slaughter.
