About Me

Formed in '87, the band was first called Sauron soon to be renamed to Theriac. The demotapes 'React on Thrash' and 'Staccato Thrashio' were recorded with Gerard Carol from Angus on bass, William Lawson (React on Thrash) and Harry Drenth (Staccato Thrashio) on Drums, Patrick Uterwijk on guitar and Marco van Hulst on guitar and vocals. After a while, Bas Dooijes joined Theriac as a bassplayer, coming from local band Hectic. This line-up proofed to be a very energetic bunch, soon to be noticed at a Belgium gig by Patrick Mameli from Pestilence. Patrick Uterwijk, Bas Dooijes and Harry Drenth were invited to join Pestilence. Patrick and Bas did, but Bas soon rejoined Theriac as a guitarplayer. Now featuring Marco van Hulst on guitar and vocals, Harry Drenth on Drums, Frank Kropf on Bass and Bas Dooijes on guitar, Theriac recorded their 'Thoughts'and 'Claustrophobia' demos. Theriac never got sighned although the magazines wrote some very positive reviews about our demotapes. The band played all over Holland, played gigs in Germany and Belgium, and supported OverKill in Paradiso (Amsterdam).
Theriac appeared on 2 compilations:
- "Alle 666 goed" with the track "Mindvibes" (1991, Displeased Records)
- "And Justice for none" with the tracks "Miserable" and "The Waiting" (1992, Displeased Records)
Demo's:
React on Thrash Demo, 1987
Staccato Thrashio Demo, 1988
Claustrophobia Demo, 1990
Thoughts Demo, 1991
Theriac ceased to exist in 1997
