About Me

Smells Like Green started off as a band of traveling minstrels calling themselves the Super Happy Flower Power Hour. One day the traveling minstrels wandered into my home, so I killed them and stole their instruments. Seriously though, the name came up Freshman year in highschool when a friend of mine and I were coming up with fake stupid band names. Now, several years later after many failed attempts to find people who could help me express myself, I figured out that this is something I have to do for myself. Smells Like Green lyrics and songs are composed, or at least in a couple of cases arranged recorded mixed and burned by me. I'm working on doing the artwork for the next two albums myself. This is just one of my outlets for all of the things I've been meaning to say for years. Enjoy, or don't I mean you have free will... for now. The music will be coming soon to your ear drums and maybe some venues around town and wherever else I and any band members might wind up.

What’s new

I'm in Denton Texas right now at the university of North Texas, and I'm still planning to finish the last leg of the album. The last five songs may take longer to write and record, but I promise they'...

"Your train of thought has been derailed."

I could release the songs I have now, I'd just have to get them remastered, but I'm not satisfied with it. I'm not satisfied at all yet because I don't want Smells Like Green to turn into shit. I'm pl...

Back to limbo

My recording equipment is back out of comission for a little while, and so "Taboo's" existence goes into question again, just before I got a chance to work on the five hardest (both soundwise and styl...

2/3 continued

I just about wrapped up 2/3 of "Taboo" going on to the final five songs, the hardest, darkest and most heartfelt of the bunch I believe. Then on to the process of endless remastering remixing and inde...

The state of the band and the state of my mind

Unfortunately I hit another road block, and it will be awhile before "Taboo" is released. I'll still get it done one way or another, it's just going to take longer than expected. I may give up a coupl...

Approximately 2/3, updates and "The Suicide Machine Anthems"

I've gotten approximately 2/3 of the songs for "Taboo" recorded with another few coming in the next few days. I also plan to add tracks, as well as remix re-record tracks on some songs, but the whole ...

1/3

Five songs of the fifteen on "Taboo" are pretty much done, and another couple should be done soon enough. I intend to finish the recordings within the next couple of weeks, polish them up a little bit...

Taboo continues

For one reason or another, my live bass player has also decided to leave the band, I wish him the best of luck, and I'm continuing to write the new album without him, but one cannot have a succesful b...

Taboo begins

Slowly but surely I'm starting to work on "Taboo" when I get a chance. The writing process is slow, but when I get a good idea it's much more rewarding.  I can also use people for photographs for...
