Drawing heavily on the funk and soul music of the late 60’s and early 70’s, The Transatlantics deliver an infectious live experience playing a mix of old-school soul, deep funk and raw break beat grooves.
Led by Tara Lynch and backed by an eight-piece band, The Transatlantics have firmly cemented themselves as a dynamic, late night staple of the Adelaide music scene. In their short lifetime, they have already supported the likes of Ohmega Watts (USA), Nick RecordKicks (Italy) and The Bamboos (Melb) and recently experienced playing alongside New Orleans funk legend Eddie Bo, as his backing band on his Australian Tour.
Labelled one of the top three local acts of 2007 by Rip It Up, and having just experienced three of their tracks being placed in the top five on Triple J Unearthed, this band is a must-see for anyone looking for a thick slice of some tasty old-school soul food.
