FREE! KWENZI
Brandon Archibald Samuel Kwenzi has been a central figure to the WOOFR (Worldwide Organisation for Outlaw & Freelancer Rights) for decades.
On September 9, 1999, B.A.S. Kwenzi was arrested under murder, assault and noise pollution charges. Since then he has been held prisoner at Santa Barbara County Jail.
Despite the murder charge being dropped as early as March 2000 (as the victim was found to have in fact snorted himself to nirvana) and B.A.S. having no criminal records before his arrest, no fair trial has been held until this day.
Instead, Kwenzi is held in isolation at the highest security level like a mass murderer and has been repeatedly reported to be denied his basic rights.
It is about time the world got to know B.A.S. Kwenzi's fate and that finally actions are taken to liberate him from his hardship.
Or as Kwenzi likes to put it: "Let the B.A.S. roll."
As a way of expressing our position on the case and spreading the word of B.A.S. Kwenzi's story, we have put together a night in his honour on June 1, 2007 @ VarioClub Olten, Switzerland.

i started off djing 95/6, back then i was into some detroit-progressive techno kind of stuff.
when that started boring me, i only used my 1 beltdrive deck i had for listening for a few years, focusing more on playing instruments, doing vocals and such.
It wasn't until 99/00 that i really got into some more dj-friendly kinds of music: hiphop, reggae, dancehall, dub... soon also got into some more electronic stuff, some jungle & drum&bass, some downbeat, some 2step, always occasionally rinsing some soul, blues, songwriter, whatever nice more acoustic sounds.
It was in late 05 that i finally could afford to get my very own 2 mk2s and a proper mixer. since early 2006 i've been completely infected with the bass virus (dubstep, grime, sublow, dark garage, ...), mashin up my bedroom constantly since then. as a result of this passion i went to london between august and november 06, where i completely lost my head at fwd every week, skankin out like mad in front of the right speaker. over the past months i've been trying to get that same feeling back here in switzerland. Loads of respect to blade for the support on that! you dun know for time! out to ben for his work & love for the music as well.
