I began my music life when I was very young. I don't remember how old I was exactly but I started learning piano. By the time I got to high school I joined the band and started French horn. At that time I started writing some of my own music but I was really afraid of singing so I really just did it for me.
In college I had to learn every instrument and was forced to sing in the choir. At first I hated it but eventually I started to feel more comfortable. One day I decided to buy a guitar and teach myself how to play. Almost instantly I started writing my own music on the guitar. I was still really afraid to sing out loud so I wrote lots of songs and kept them in a binder in my room.
Before I graduated in 2003 I started getting out there a little bit more. I tried some open mics and small shows. It wasn't as bad as I thought! I started to love it and now I can't stop! I graduated with a Master's Degree in Music education in May 2006. I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Music Therapy. Working on my master's, playing with Outset, and playing with Birmingham Six, a local Irish band, does not leave much time for me to perform solo shows.
I love being the bassist in OUTSET, I love playing all kinds of music so any chanceI get I jump on it. Hopefully I will be able to make time to perform more on my own. "I'll never know what the future might hold because the cards aren't mine to deal"
