THE ROMANCE
Rooted in despair, THE ROMANCE formed during the spring of 2004. In a time when nothing made sense, when everything right just went wrong, Set out to be furious, raging and intensive and uncompromising.
Musicwise, The Romance is a hardcore band, playing a cross between QOTSA and Cursed, with hints of such wide artists as Mastodon, Neurosis and Interpol.
Lyrically, it's a pitch black highway; a bruised psyche heading downhill.
Not following a formula of how it should be done, these chaps are playing what they want to.
After a slow and hard 2006 with major setbacks and the downsides bands usually go through, 2007 started out with sharing the stage with The Hope Conspiracy and Dead Reprise, getting back into the action and finding the spirit that is sometimes easy to lose when things don’t work out the way the were supposed to.
The rest of the winter and spring was a music-writing journey and in the summer of ‘07 The Romance began to rage for real, on tour in July across UK together with Jealous in support of their split 7†on Anchors Aweigh Records (from the island with Italy’s finest shores).
All of a sudden it’s 2008, and their anticipated debut “13:13†is finally seeing the light, though not how it was supposed to be coming out.
Up for download, free of charge, for the public to share any which way they want to, “13:13†will be available next Wednesday, the 23rd of January. Make sure you look into that.
The Romance could be the new faith for non-believers. In a world as black as the night, we can all use some soul mates and partners in crime to rely on.
