About Me

Myspace Editor You rarely find a band whose natural chemistry is personified so effortlessly on stage. The fusing of lead and harmony vocals along with strong rhythm and lead guitar helps create the bands high enegry performances. Only a year after the formation of the band, Clint Darby and Kip Traylor went from being named "Montgomery's best kept secret" (Montgomery Advertiser 3/24/05) to being voted the Best Local Club Act of 2005 (Montgomery Advertiser 12/28/05). During this year Clint and Kip have already written and recorded their first E.P. as well as completed three regional tours.Clint started performing music over ten years ago beginning in high school bands, ending up for five years playing in a leading party band touring colleges in the southeast and ultimately now pursuing his dream as a professional musician/artist, entirely focused on developing his career as a singer/songwriter and performer. Clint Darbys self-titled E.P. contains seven tracks that showcase Clints growth; from tracks that began developing as far as two years ago to a few new demo tracks that were written in the last six months. The music on the album is diverse handling piano and acoustic guitar with influences of the Beatles to electric guitars and strings of a more contemporary rock background to heavy acoustic tracks with influences by artists such as Mindy Smith and Nickel Creek. My musical influences have helped shape me, but also have given me the freedom to develop and grow through my own experience. As a songwriter my themes often include personal challenge, love, hope and sometimes the melancholy that surrounds these feelings.Kip Traylor began playing professionally about 5 years ago. At age 19 she recorded her first CD which circulated around the Southeastern college circuit immediately gaining fans. She has continued to grow in her vocal style and writing and is working on developing her career as a professional musician/performer. Kip's influences range from artists such as Sarah Mclachlan, Norah Jones and Dave Matthews and are reflected in her vocals and rhythm guitar. "I truly believe in the passion of music, the influences I've had growing up seem to come out more and more the further I dig into what I want to do, which is make music," Kip explains.Darby and Traylor are quickly growing beyond their local scene, averaging at least fifteen shows a month and have quickly moved into neighboring cities and states. They also competed in the Montgomery Advertiser's 2005 Battle of the Bands finishing just one point short of placement; a powerful statement about their music and performance considering they were the only acoustic act of the entire day.Together Clint Darby and Kip Traylor team up to form a powerful duo offering high energy performances with lead and rhythm guitar, strong vocal harmonies, a powerful writing style and music that pleases any crowd. Clint and Kip are currently performing their new collaborative material and can currently be seen performing across the Southeast................................................... .............................................
