About Me

My name is Blake, or part of my name is. It’s the middle part to be exact, but “Blake” is what I’m called most.
I’ve been playing drums for a little over 20 years now, and I’ve been singing all of my life. The songs on this profile are of artists and bands that I’ve played drums for, sang harmony with, or both.
My professional music career started just as soon as I started college. Since then, I’ve played in countless bands and for several artists of many different styles and genres. Americana, Alt-Country, Alt-Rock, Bluegrass, Blues, Christian, Country AND Western, Folk, Funk, Garage, Grunge, Hard Rock, Pop, Pop-Rock, Roots-Rock, Southern Rock, Tejano, Classic Rock and Classic Country cover bands, and Top 40 cover bands.
My past musical hometowns include Waco, TX, Jackson Hole, WY, Austin, TX, and Los Angeles, CA. I hope to move to New York City someday, but for now it's the Texas Hill Country.
I attended Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA for drums and vocal instruction, and later graduated with a degree in Music Business from there. Though drumming and singing will always be my first passion, my interest and passion in the business side of the music industry continuously grows. My involvement in the business side of the bands I’ve been in and others included management, booking, marketing, tour-managing, promotions and publicity (and even stylist). Submersed in all things music is my passion and purpose, and I’m constantly seeking my perfect niche.
As a whole, I am a piece of clay in ceaseless change. Jesus Christ is in charge of my life and I’m in constant struggle to have more and more Faith in Him. At the same time, I'm working to become more like the perfect Servant that He continues to be. I've done plenty out of selfish ambition, yet nothing seems to give me more purpose than putting others' needs in front of my own. My most favorite lyric of all time is by the group 2nd Chapter of Acts : “So why should I worry? Why should I fret? ‘Cause I’ve got a Mansion Builder, Who ain’t through with me yet.” Now, why do I still have stess?
