flower in the sea

I’m tired of dreaming of being rich and famous, I want a better option.

About Me

Well, I finally made "the move" to the Big Apple from a small town in Texas. I'm a former acrobat, sometimes I lose my shoes and other things, I collect mangled butterflies that have been hit by cars (they make great gifts), in fact I collect a lot of beautiful dead things, but you would probably never guess because I look pretty normal, I spent the past year being a ski-bum in Colorado... I mean... all while making art of course (she says in a professional voice), my favorite food and color is avocado--don't you just love that crayon! yum, and oh ya, I talk with God... WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PERSON ... I could spend eternity exploring the intimate mysteries of knowing Him

I'm tempted to tell you a mystery...

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love... live in these three

My Interests

fonts, cameras, hot tea, macs, color, DIGGING in the dirt, COLLECTING rays of light and rocks, leaves, and mementos from life or just things that I find visually interesting,

spiritual illumination, pealing paint, backpacking, grinding coffee, typewriters, DISCOVERING great music, discovering great art, turtles, playing with scanners, MAKING paper,

hopping on snow because I enjoy the sound it makes, unusual combinations, theology, travel, learning, making things, LOOKING at art books, and SEEING people's hearts

I'd like to meet:

the person I was created to be...

strange people, talented people, people with unusual pets, people who are passionate about the same things that I am, and people that are passionate about things that I've never thought of

Music:

in the precise order of randomness...Sufan Stevens, Tom Waits, Gillian Welch, Dirty three, Regina Spektor, Lucinda Williams, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Otis Redding, Al Green, Arcade Fire, Rilo Kiley, Pixies, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle, Bowie, The Who, Wilco, The Beta Band, Nick Cave, Van Morrison, Elefant, Damian Rice, Naci Griffith, The Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Ryan Adams, Brighteyes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Morphine, Sigur Rios, Lou Reed, Television, Cowboy Junkies, The Mountain Goats, The Shins, Death Cab and Postal Service, Gomez, Mates of State, Cash, Frou Frou, Flogging Molly, The Decemberists, Lucero, Iron and Wine, Van Zandt, Stereophonics, Mile Davis, Radiohead, Grandaddy, The Mars Volta, Martin Sexton, there are too many more and I'm tired of typing, you get the picture

Movies:

The Graduate, Dead Man, Garden State, I Heart Hukabees, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Run Lola Run, Lost in Translation, Donny Darko, Punk-Drunk Love, Magnolia, Spanglish, Adaptation, Sin City, Brazil, Down by Law, La Jute, American Beauty, everything by Quentin Tarantino, Jim Jarmisch, Spike Jonze, Cameron Crow and more. If you are still reading this...then you are amazingly and wonderfully unusual! We should be friends.

Television:

had to quit, I was forming a CSI addiction. It was scary.

Books:

do people still read those? Whoever wants art to dissolve into reality, will equally make short of words, since these merely evoke a world. ‘I abused the word in an effort to express what is lying behind the words, what cannot be grasped by words. That is how I began to create with reality itself’ says Nitsch in ‘Vorwort der Wortdichtung des Orgien Mysterien Theaters’

For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.

Heroes:

For this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and the mortal will have put on immortality, then will come the saying that is written,"Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"
