The Next Big Thing...

About Me

GE5 is a band of four guys who formed up in Tacoma, Washington way back in the '90's. The band originally was a cover band, but after a personnel change they began to write their own songs, intermixing them with the Beatles, REM, and Morrissey songs they played every night. The band played together for 4 years in this line-up, but eventually parted, with each member going their separate ways. The death of a good friend brought the band back together, and the realization that they had a lot of great songs that needed to be heard gave them the desire to record their music, and the band's Debut disc "Superficial World" was released Feb 1, 2008.
The members of the band have each had some successes of their own in the past, but feel that this group has a dynamic sound that is unique and yet familiar. With many songs featuring two-part harmony lead vocals, as well as jangly electric 12 string guitars, they have been compared to bands as diverse as the Byrds, REM, the Hooters, the Smithereens, and the Beatles --- all huge compliments to the band, as these have been influences in their songwriting and their sound.
The band has continued to write, and are looking to incorporate some of the new songs into their performances, and are excited about the buzz that is starting about their new release and their sound. And this is a band that can't wait to get out and share their music with more and more people!
GE5 Debut release "Superficial World" Available NOW!
Well, it seemed like it took forever to get this done, but believe us when we say it was worth the wait!
With 14 original tracks from the band, Superficial World is an exciting debut for the GE5, and this disc rocks beyond our own expectations. We are very proud of the way this has come together, and can't wait to have everyone hear it!
Some of these songs have been with us for a while, and they have come into their own during the rehearsal and recording process. Add to that some new tracks, and we have a first release that we are proud of. And want to thank all of you that have hung with us through the years --- without you, none of this would be possible.
