Come join the Trans Support March during the Dyke March in 2005. This is a march for equality of all Trans identified people in the queer community. All Trans identified people and Trans allies are welcome and encouraged. This is for people who support equality not just in the queer community, but also in our community as a whole. This is for people who are tierd of discrimination, hatred, and violence due to thier sexual orientation and identity. Join us and show your peers and the world that you demand equal rights, respect and that you will no longer stand silent. We are marching at the dyke march to show our peers in the lesbian community that we are not to be segregated or seperated from our rights and fellow queers because of any transition or identity. If we stand seperated against the larger goal we will fail. The goal is equality for all queer identitified people, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, trans, or straight. The definations are changing fast and seperatizim leaves little room for growth and revolution.Below you will find the statement from the "dyke march SF" website, please read and make up your own opinion and views. The Trans community still and always will have alot of love for our sisters and girlfriends. The point of this is not to stir shit up, (even though that might happen), but to teach by example that acceptance is of high value among the radical minded. Please wear black and bring lots of water. We will be passing out red arm bands, but feel free to bring your own: signs, red bandanas, and your friends and family."DYKE IDENTITY - A MARCH FOR ALL DYKESThis march is for DYKES. Dykes gather at the Dyke March to celebrate our love and passion for women and for ALL dykes. We celebrate our queerness in all its manifestations. Given this year's theme, Dykes Across Borders, we understand DYKE IDENTITY to include those of us who are questioning and challenging gender constructs imposed by the mainstream and do not necessarily identify as women. We also welcome all women who want to support dykes to march with us (be a dyke for a day!).We acknowledge that, traditionally, the Dyke March has presented itself as a "woman only" event. Many of us on the current committee have a long-standing herstory as radical feminists and leftists. The creation, need and demand for woman-only space (usually with lesbian separatists at the forefront) has been an integral part of the revolution for all women -- a safe place to change, grow and develop strategy to fight against and away from the men who are our oppressors. We could not have come to the point we're at today without it.We continue to demand that the Dyke March and rally be dyke-only space. In other words, we ask that men NOT participate, but rather that our brothers support us from the sidelines, cheering us on and helping with finances or other support."
