What started out as a joke has turned into a monster.
A silly name with an ominous intent. Formed in 2003 with members from bands that had for one reason or another gone separate ways; Chairleg was unified in one simple goal: no more playing around. Tired of dealing with wishy-washy members and the setbacks that came with them, Chairleg set out to do as they wished, with no regard for those who stood in their way. Initially formed with Sprowls, Lawhorne and Brower, they set out to assemble a force to be reckoned with. After a short search they found Griffis; a solid bass general with a lot to offer, aiding complicated and almost surreal bass lines. After finding Griffis they knew they still needed something else and after a few different try outs they received with open arms a young Mercer; whose lead riffs not only filled a gap, but also inspired the band to step up and take on much faster and heavier challenges.
It was not long before it became time for the band to put their money where their mouth is, so, they set out to do just that. The songs got even heavier, faster, and better. Locally, they were pressed to go ahead and play... but hey declined, they werent the best that they could be yet. Soon though, they stood ready to poise and attack their local music scene. With only five songs under their belt, and much buzz abroad, Chairleg decided there was no time like the present, and with the opening words of Yes we are Chairleg, and yes we are for real they assaulted an unprepared crowd with 45 minutes of sheer excitement and terror all rolled into one. Their first three shows occurred in the span of nine days, and with that they appeared on the news, were nominated for best band in their hometowns Lokal Music Awards and had become the biggest talk of the town. After these shows, due to some medical problems the band had to take a short set back. Then after six months they re-appeared and after all of the hype, screams, and bloodshed, they showed everyone that they were here to stay. They now stand ever ready, prepared to take on all comers or anyone that stands in their way... and it will be ugly. Are you ready? Good, because they don't care if you are...
