I got Hitman’s number through an organisation called Creative Pathways along with a whole list of other producers and emcees, who, like me, were unsigned. I called him and 40mins later I had a beat in my emails. I wrote and recorded the lyrics, sent them back and he produced the track. Half an album later we met face to face for the first time.
He was a creator of beats who needed an emcee. I was an emcee who needed a creator of beats. Yin and yang. Universal balance. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts…
