Chicago livin, but Cincy at heart

About Me

Bengals fanatic, if you like the Steelers, get outta my face. I love Chicago, but I'll always be a Cincy girl at heart. Change and trying new things are thumbs up in my book, so big cities are fun for me.

Since I've moved to Chicago, I wanted to go ahead and get back into this to try and keep in touch in as many ways as possible with the people I love.

My Interests

Active Activities: Skiing, volleyball, swimming, ping pong, hiking, tennis, camping, biking and boating (as long as the water current's doing most of the work).
Leisure: dancing, Dancing, DANCING!, reading, walking dogs, stamping stuff, people watching, sleeping, watching football, theater, music and art.
Favorites: CINCINNATI BENGALS! My family, my sister, dogs, shiny things, letters, libraries, televisionwithoutpity.com, autumn, card games, kissing, birthday parties, no smoking bars, pinot noir, ice cream, hugs, monkeys, board games, my giant MiracleGro ivy plant, manicures, voting, phone calls at work, Ethnic food, vodka and little league baseball.

I'd like to meet:

People in Chicago! I love the arts, the outdoors, the bars and the dancing. I don't find the party, the party finds me.

Music:

Almost anything, and I know everyone says that.
I guess I really like songs I can sing to or dance to for the most part. If it's tragically hip, I'm usually not interested and Emo crap makes me want to puke.
Faves of the moment: Guster, U2, TMBG, REM, (I apparently like bands with letters and numbers in their names), Pink Floyd, Moxy Fruvous, Coltrane, Ben Folds, Over the Rhine, Steve Miller Band, Queen, Shakira, Beatles, Sinatra, Modest Mouse and most danceable pop and hip hop.

Movies:

I Heart Huckabees, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Chicago, Anastasia, Lost in Translation, Dirty Dancing, Wallace and Gromit, Pride and Prejudice (A & E version)

Television:

Discovery Channel, Sports Night, Amazing Race, Sopranos, Felicity, Entourage, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Food Network, Gilmore Girls, The Daily Show/Colbert Report, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Project Runway

Books:

Salinger kickstarted my right brain when I was 12, so I'll start with him. Anything by Dave Sedaris, The Bell Jar, Slaughterhouse Five, Harry Potter, America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction, Ishmael, The Tao of Pooh, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Plot Against America, Middlesex, Out of the Silent Planet, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Don't Get Too Comfortable

Heroes:

Kelley Weeks. Always and forever.
