About Me

MySpace Contact Box from ModMyProfile.comHmm about me ... I am alive, very alive. I'm about 70% water. I strive to live like I'm going to die tomorrow and learn like I'm going to live forever. I aim for a child-like sense of wonder and adult-like OCD, jack of all trades, master of some. I don't feel anger. The only thing I do not tolerate in others is intolerance. I have distain for the untested hypothesis and dirty optics. I try to eat good foods, breathe deeply and appreciate art. I have a big problem with clear cuts. I have a PhD in biomedical laser engineering. I think feel the feelings of other people and I work on sensitivity so accumulated crust breaks away, exposing layers of my soul, which melt into the world around me. I'm affected by music and emotions. I like to forget everything to hyperfocus on the moment with an intensity that many people don't get, it's intense concentration. I am impressed by the simple yet profound. I try to shave with a straight razor and work in the dermatology department. I try to practice benevolence. I try not to erase what I feel for convenience as I would rather live in painful truth than ignorant bliss. I have intense visions in my dreams and when I close my eyes. In one of them that recurs, huge crystals collide in space and fragment into sub-crystals which themselves collide and fragment silently. In another, electric green palm trees wave in the wind on the tan background of the desert. I don't know where these visions come from but I have some ideas. Basically, I am living in a fractal world and I'm trying to pull it all together. I'm sure that a fractal-geometrical analysis could offer a simpler and more elegant solution to nature's apparent chaos than the Cartesian status quo. Fractal geometry is tough though and I'm trying to work on that :) The two visions described above have recurred over the past 7 years or so but in the past year I've had a new one that's much more realistic and less "far out." In it, I am riding a horse fast through the forest, weaving and ducking trees and branches. At precisely the right moment, as time slows down matrix style I draw an arrow from the quiver on my back, load it into a bow and fire at a moving target. The moment where I hit the target is an asymptote in time, sort of a needle threading where time grinds to a halt. I'm happy because this new vision is kind of metaphorical for any needle threading activity I might engage in real life so it's a little more useful than my previous two recurring visions which were really just kind of abstract. If that's not enough, email me and I will elaborate further.
