About Me

At university I studied Human Sciences in Brighton: the degree was great and basically was all about what it is about being human that comes from our biology and genetics and what comes from our consciousness: society and culture. So I studied a great variety of subjects, which all still interest me today (but particularly the evolution & ecology stuff): biology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, evolution, psychology (social, cognitive and developmental, behavioral ecology, anthropology), philosophy .. and many more! Gosh that all sounds really serious, I do like to go out partying too and being a naughty girl! My Interests

I'm a music and nature-lover. I go to the opera & classical concerts a lot, need to go to more gigs: c'mon people - invite me! I'm never happier than when I'm walking along the coastal path in the Pembrokeshire National Park in South Wales, although I do like going on holiday to further away places - Africa and Mexico are the favourites so far! I enjoy sitting in the sun with a gin & tonic and doing a cryptic crossword!

Music:

I listen to very wide range of music and there's no type of music that I really dislike. I'm a trained singer and used to play the clarinet so classical music does feature a lot at home (my neighbours must bemoan me when I sing along to the choral and opera). Still listen to my tapes (!!) of the Levs, New Model Army and others from my Rock City days! Classical Favs: Bach, Handel, Mozart, Verdi, G&S, Puccini, Brahms, Chopin, ... Pixies, Kaisers, Leftfield, Daft Punk, Foo Fighters, Muse or anything I like the sound of - I don't really care about genres.

Movies:

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Withnail & I, Moulin Rouge, Big Lebowski, Brassed Off, North by Northwest, Charade... more will be added, eclectic is probably the right word for my movie tastes although I was a bit loathe to use it as it's a seriously over-used word....Don't use it then .. too late.

Television:

watching Lost but don't know if I can bothered for all these series yet to come! Love Green Wing and My Name is Earl.

Books:

I worked in a bookshop for 5 years so I couldn't possibly say what my favourite book or books are. There are just too many. I'm going to have to seriously think about this one......

Heroes:

David Attenborough, Einstein, Darwin .... Dave Grohl after last weekend..
