The name QQ47, diverted from the meteor QQ47 of which there was a chance of a collision with earth in 2014, was made up after a watching Discovery Channel.
But QQ47 is now also a emo/post-hardcore band from Lichtenvoorde.
With Sean Gascoigne (guitar and vocals), Nils Wiegerinck (vocals), Roel Stoltenborg (drums), Arjen Stortelder (guitar) and Harmen Stortelder (bass)
The band was founded in the summer of 2004 by Sean and Nils. In 2007 Roel, Arjen and Harmen got member of the band.
The first songs they have written got the emo punkrock genre. The band grew into writing emo/post-hardcore songs.
Why does QQ47 choose for emo/post-hardcore? Simple, you can get rid of all your emotions and aggressions in your music Sean.
In the summer of 2005 the demo Eleven was recorded. They didnt have money for renting a studio, so they recorded it all by themselves. The cd contains tracks such as I Refuse, Punk Rock Symphony, Full Trottle and Butterfly.
In the past QQ47 has played with bands as JetSetReady and Seanpenn. Shows in bars and festivals such as Nighttown, Paaspop Zieuwent, Punkpop, LAL Festival and Rockstake. Also Germany have met QQ47.
QQ47 is live a very energetic band where standing still is almost impossible.
Sometimes I get chills of songs I wrote myself. That feels so good that I go totally loose on stage Sean.
The music QQ47 makes gets influenced by bands such as The Used, Funeral For A Friend and underOATH. The content of the lyrics are often love, death and things out of our normal life.
QQ47 are right in your face, fucker!
