You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one

About Me

This is Pete Karas typing with these fingers. I was born and raised here in Baltimore. I'm at the edge of the city in a town called Parkville. I absolutely love living here.I used to DJ in night clubs and bars as well as on the radio. I co-hosted a TV dance show back in the early 90s in Ocean City Maryland called the Block Party with my friend Victor T, who I remain close friends with to this date. I also played drums in quite a few bands. I'm currently pursuing a career in acting. To see the movies I've been in, including my acting resume, go to the Internet Movie Data Base. Here's the link: www.imdb.com/name/nm1753586/I am what they call the Grand Sheik of Sons of the Desert - Any Old Port tent here in Baltimore. What the hell is that, you ask? It's an Laurel and Hardy appreciation society. We get together once every other month to enjoy the films of Laurel and Hardy. We celebrated our ten year anniversary back in February. The Sons of the Desert has been around since the early 60's. You can click the link ANY OLD PORT TENT under my friends to find out more info. I not only love Laurel and Hardy, but all the old comedy from the 20's, 30's and 40's. Other favorites are Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Charley Chase, and the Three Stooges. My favorite band of all time is the Beatles (can't you tell?). The lads from Liverpool have given me so much happiness throughout my life. I love all music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. I don't care much at all for the music of today. Especially rap, hip-hop and metal.I have many friends, both guys and gals, that I enjoy doing many different things with. It could be going to restaurants, seeing a movie, traveling, playing cards, karaoke parties, or just getting a coffee somewhere and chatting. I am thankful for the many friends that I have and look forward to making many more. TURN OFFS: Cigarette smoke (yuk!), traffic, friends that fall asleep on you when they shouldn't, and...people that send text messages or open their cell phones during a movie. If you really need to do that, don't go to the movies!!!!

I'd like to meet:

I am not here for dating or to get involved in a relationship. I'm here for networking and friends only. Besides, I can't stand dating. I believe in friends first and getting to know someone. What can I say, I'm just an old fashioned guy. Here's one more thing about me. I don't do applications. So if we become friends, please don't send me anything that requires me to install one. I don't need to be bought as a pet or want any bumper stickers or whatever. I also don't believe good fortune or love will come my way by forwarding messages to 15 people. ;o)

Music:

Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Hendrix, Queen, Tears for Fears, Buddy Holly, Lloyd Cole, U2, Sinatra, Morrissey, Badfinger, Dean Martin, Billie Holiday. I can't stand rap, hip-hop or techno pop. It does absolutely nothing for me.

Movies:

Field of Dreams, Planet of the Apes (1968), Shawshank Redemption, Scarface (1983), This is Spinal Tap, It's a Wonderful Life, Jaws, Back to the Future, Austin Powers, Almost Famous, Dazed and Confused, That Thing You Do, The Green Mile, Cars (Pixar), The Wizard of Oz, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Yellow Submarine, American Graffiti, The Pope of Greenwich Village, King Kong (1933), North by Northwest, Forrest Gump, Swingers, All Laurel and Hardy, Chaplin and Harold Lloyd, and so much more!

Television:

My favorite show of all time is The Wonder Years. Other favs are That '70s Show, Mr. Bean, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld. Current favs are Two and a Half Men, My Name is Earl and American Idol. Love TCM!!!

Books:

Recently read THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED - by Larry Lehmer. Highly recommended!

Heroes:

My dad...who I miss so dearly. My Mom...who remained so strong after my dad passed away. Also, John Lennon and George Harrison. George is my favorite Beatle but my love for them all is equal.
