"Keys" was born in Houston, TX. Growing up in the era that began the Rap and Hip Hop emphasis, "Keys" was hooked with a love for urban music. This love and knowledge of music and a secondary interest in auto electronics allowed his landing his first job in car audio and auto-security alarms.
His continued growth and love for music enabled his start in the entertainment industry in the summer of 1994 with the opening of "Small World Productions" a small promotions and Special Event Company that promoted concerts and festivals. After many years of concert promotions and Festival events his interest continued to grow in the music industry further driving him into music production and studio recording.
After four years in recording "Keys" decided to further his knowledge in recording and music production and attended the best school in the country, Full Sail Real World Education for Recording Arts, Orlando, Fla. After receiving an associate degree in Recording Arts, Dave returned to Texas to further pursue his career in recording.
After a long list of trials at several studios in the Austin and Dallas areas Dave and another Full Sail graduate, "J-Pimpin' and along with long-term friend and work colleague Dorrian "Do-Boy" Johnson opened SoundPhiles LLC .
They still run and operate SoundPhiles LLC and work with some of the most well-known, up and coming artists and entertainment companies in the industry today, such as: DJ Screw, Young Bleed, Juvenile, Too Short, Tyrese, Xzibit, Paul Wall, New Line Cinema, NBA Dallas Mavericks and BET, just to name a few.
